What is a good calorie limit for weight loss?

I am 5' 6" and I weigh about 143 at the moment. My hope is to lose about 10-15 pounds by the end of September, or to just look toned and fit overall even if it means losing less than the weight I hope to lose. I've been eating 1200 net calories a day (give or take a few) and I've been doing the 30 day shred religiously every day. Someone told me I should up my calorie intake to lose more weight. Is that true? What is a good daily calorie limit if I want to achieve my goal? Thank you!

To lose that much weight in 7 weeks you would have to lose ~2lbs/wk, which honestly, is going to be a stretch for someone without much to lose like yourself. Probably 7 to 10 lbs is a more realistic goal, if you want to do this in a healthy way such that you don't gain the weight right back.
Figure out your TDEE, and subtract 500-750 calories daily to get to that goal. 1200 calories is probably too low.0 -

If you want to tone (aka cut body fat) faster than drop the cardio and start doing heavy weight training. WT provides more fat loss benenfits. BTW, at your weight 1/2 lb per week is ideal.0
