What is a good calorie limit for weight loss?

I am 5' 6" and I weigh about 143 at the moment. My hope is to lose about 10-15 pounds by the end of September, or to just look toned and fit overall even if it means losing less than the weight I hope to lose. I've been eating 1200 net calories a day (give or take a few) and I've been doing the 30 day shred religiously every day. Someone told me I should up my calorie intake to lose more weight. Is that true? What is a good daily calorie limit if I want to achieve my goal? Thank you! :)

To lose that much weight in 7 weeks you would have to lose ~2lbs/wk, which honestly, is going to be a stretch for someone without much to lose like yourself. Probably 7 to 10 lbs is a more realistic goal, if you want to do this in a healthy way such that you don't gain the weight right back.

Figure out your TDEE, and subtract 500-750 calories daily to get to that goal. 1200 calories is probably too low.

If you want to tone (aka cut body fat) faster than drop the cardio and start doing heavy weight training. WT provides more fat loss benenfits. BTW, at your weight 1/2 lb per week is ideal.
