I want my old jeans back!!!

Hello all who are braving this frustrating journey with me!!

I'm Erika. An almost 30, stay at home mother to 3, sick of being over weight, trying to live a healthier life, wife...and I want my old jeans back now!! I'm a bridesmaid in my BFF's wedding and cried for an hour after trying on the dress I'm expected to wear. I was told I look pregnant and that it was not a flattering dress. Needless to say the thought of being immortalized in another set of wedding photos (aside from my own) looking like two tons of fun has been the boot in the b*tt I needed to start this trek!

Before I had the kids I wasn't the skinniest girl but I was at least happy with where I had gotten. Can you imagine being in the 8th grade and wearing men's size 40 jeans?! That was me! Luckily I dieted and exercised my way to a size 16 dress for my 12th grade prom and I felt good! Then college hit and it all went down the tubes. Here I sit 12 years later and I miss those size 16 jeans! Heck I'd settle for 18's!!! 3 kids (all c-sections) in 3 years (ages 5, 3 1/2, and 2 1/2)imposed on me a hiatus of sorts...but now I want to act! Get back to being healthier and more active for my kids. Run, jump, slide, swim, bike ride all without back and joint pain.

I've started walking 5 days ago...I do 3 1/2 miles everyday...even if it takes me 90 minutes to do it. Yesterday my kids showed up at the track I walk to cheer me on...it helped me walk 4 and a quarter miles! I've cut my caloric intake to 1800 a day. Give or take a fruit or two. I just want this so bad but can see how giving up is easier...but then I look at my old jeans (yes I still have them) and its stokes the fire a little more!!

Thanks for reading and good luck to you all!

I may be a guy but I know where you are coming from, I kept many of my too small clothes too and wanted and wished I fit in them. Right now I keep the next size hanging on my bedroom closet door and once a week I try them on and see how far I'm from getting into them. It's great you get out and walk daily...and you have family support. That is great too, Feel free to add me as a friend..
