Napping - Good or bad?

I have read a lot of mixed views on this. Some say after a work out if you eat something healthy, shower and have a short nap (Hour or so) It helps build muscle cos it gives your muscles a rest after being exerted, others say no way.

Opinion?

    ^^^ This

Listen to your body. If it's telling you to nap, then do it. If you're not tired, why waste perfectly good awake time to do something constructive?

As long as you don't eat 2 hrs before a nap and within 11.34 min after waking from it (to jumpstart your metabolism) you'll be just fine
  • i smoke alot of honey oil on the weekends and end up sleeping for short naps through out the nap- would this be considered bad-like too much napping?

What's wrong with eating less than 2 hours before napping? Nap, shower, eat, whatever works for you!
I come home, shower, make a high protein snack and curl up on the couch and watch TV. if it's extra bad, I nap. I would say it's a good thing if it works out for you.

Your metabolism slows when you sleep, and food eaten a few hrs prior to sleep won't be burned off as fast

I started taking naps recently. Not all the time or every day but I got tired of feeling tired and dragging though the last part of the day. When I have to do early morning and late evening calls for more than a few days in a row I will take a quick nap.

So if you are tired go ahead. At my age though I have to admit I'm starting to see why all my older friends nap. I think I'm one of those older people now too. lol.

That statement is not supported by scientific study. It doesn't matter when you eat as long as you stay within your calorie levels.
