Easy Recipes for a New Cooker

I just found this website today on accident, and I'm so excited to start using it!
Cooking has ALWAYS made me nervous because I always seem to mess something up. I have found a lot of recipes that seem pretty easy (especially crock pot recipes) that I'm very excited to try. I was just wondering what some suggestions are for someone who is just starting to cook things besides spaghetti and chili...I've always heard its best to start out easy and take on more challenging recipes as you get better.

Super easy recipe that i make for my family!!!!
Cook up any type of Sausage that you like and cut into slices
Cook 1-2 potatoes depending on how much people your cooking for
Chop up a onion
Put a little of Olive oil in a pan with the onions until they are tender
Then cut potatoes into round slices (after they have been cooked ) You can cook the potato in the microwave and add to the pan and do the same with the sausage
Season with a little pepper and salt and enjoy...
It's simple but yummy!!!0 -
I'm big about cooking things in the oven. For example: chicken breasts with pasta sauce or salsa on them topped with a sprinkle of parmasan cheese when removed from the oven. Also chicken breasts with low fat cream soup (celery, broccoli, mushroom or chicken) (teriyaki, too) on it while baking. I cook it at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. These can be cooked frozen which seals the moister in so they are not so dry. Or you can cook defrosted, adjust cooking time.
One of the best things (well, 2 really) is that it only takes a couple of minutes to prepare and that you can do 2-3 meat meals at a time and warm them up later (only takes a few minutes ). If you boil a couple of potatoes and fix a vege and/or salad you're good to go. Quick and easy--helps to keep from snacking while waiting.
