20 lbs weight loss goal

Good morning!!
I have a new goal. Which is really a part of my on-going goal to be fit and healthy. Originally started with no time frame. Well, now I have a time frame. I'm getting that itch (like I tell my husband) that I am ready for baby #2.
However, as crazy as it may sound, I want to be healthy and fit before I get pregnant again.
Here's a little back story. When I got pregnant with our first child, I weighed 185 lbs. When I had our son, in October of 2010, my weight was up to 215 lbs. I DON'T WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN. Now, I have lost most of that and then some. Today I am sitting at 158 lbs. (Which I am super excited about) And more healthy then I have been in YEARS. I know that it is more important to be healthy than to read what the scale says... but I'm human, and I'm female. I want that scale to read 140 before I get pregnant again. My time frame that I want is by Christmas. Being that it's August now, I think it's doable.
Anyone else have time frames that they are trying to push for? If so, how's it working out for you?

You are awesome inspiration!!!! My second baby is 2.5 and I'm finally ready to lose the last 15-20! I'm starting very close to your start weight.
So did you start trying for #2 yet?0 -
Congratulations!
How did you do it!?
I have the same goal, and starting at 154. I have a problem if I don't see results fast enough I give up! So any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!0 -
Hey,
I'm not guilty of ignoring it, I wasn't online then lol.
Sounds like you're doing great, only 5lbs left ?
I want to lose say 15lbs by christmas if I can help it. It's taken me 7weeks to get to where I am now but I'm pretty certain the weight will stop coming off so easily in the next couple of weeks.0 -
Good for you! Awesome job on losing the weight. You can do it!
My fiance and have been trying for baby #2 on and off for 2 years. But I finally decided (in june of this year) that I'm going to get healthier and fit before I get pregnant again.0 -
Awesome job!!!!
I'm not sure what "my ultimate goal weight" is right now. I was 200 at my highest when I was pregnant with my 2nd. I hovered around 170 until I started my new lifestyle. Now I'm down to 148 (the smallest I've been since high school) and I'm still losing. Not sure how much I will lose or should lose.
Great job!! You'll be ready for the next pregnancy very shortly!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Haha and then I didn't log in and check this!! LOL. I blame the lack of notifications.
Andrea - I have taken on the motto of 'If there is a will there is a way". You can do it!!
And no... my husband wants to wait till JanuaryI'm getting impatient, lol!
Princessnelli - P90X!!! But, honestly. All it is, is daily workout and a clean diet.
Ed- I am still at 145, so still 5 lbs left. I've hit a snag, but I've also upped the pounds I use in strength training, so I am thinking that might have something to do with it.
Megann - Thank you for the courageAnd you will do it & baby # 2 will come when it's right.
Good luck!!
Bowser - Thank you!! & Great job to you as well!!! It's such an awesome feeling, isn't it?0 -
Hi,
I recently joined myfitnesspal and would like to lose a whopping 54lbs. I would love to lose 20lbs by Christmas, but would be happy with a solid 10 to 15lbs.
Any tips on how to approach it?
I also researched some plans online, so will be doing those plus I currently do cardio 3 times a week. Going to up that to 5 times a week, every morning plus an evening work out 3 times a week.
I'm open to any ideas, etc because I have been in a funk for the last 2 months, and have been giving up way to easy.0 -

Cut the cardio to 2 times a week and start weight training. Weight loss will be a tad slower, but fat loss will be greater and you won't lose muscle (which means you will maintain your metabolism and have a smaller/lean/tighter body). Also, you should be aiming for about 1 lb perk week, maybe 1.5 max since you don' t have much to lose. The only way this will increase is if you have a bunch of water weight to lose.0 -
Great job! You're an inspiration.0

I'm in the same boat! I gave birth to #1 at 174 pounds, and am now down to 126 after a lot of work and resisting the chocolate chip bag. Also did the c25k program as well and ran my first 5k a little over a month ago. I am really trying to get down to 118 before trying again. I'm quite petite so this should be doable. Good luck - you can totally do it!0
