Letting kids have whey protein?

You parents know how kids are...if you make something for yourself for lunch, your kids inevitably want to eat that rather than whatever is on their plates.
So I've been letting my littles have some of my whey protein smoothies when I have one. Is there any reason they shouldn't have it? Like too much protein? The kind I have is fairly low sugar and no really weird ingredients, but it does make me wonder. My kids are age 1 & 3.
