I started reading “The New Rules of Lifting for Women” (Lou Schuler, etal, Avery, 2009) over the weekend. The nutrition part gives good advice and a comprehensible way reset my goals to BMR/RMR base. I've done this and am going to follow his test for a month and see what happens (test is eating to BMR with adjustments for exercise only on heavy lifting days). Hopefully I will sleep and feel better and have more energy. As I work through this book, I will be better able to use calories more efficiently drop fat and increase muscle mass.

Those of you who have reset you calories to consider BMR/RMR, how long did it take you to recalibrate your brain to that number of calories after years of insufficient calorie dieting?
Also, how long did it take to adjust you goal with balance in macronutrients (carbs/protein/fat)? I know that Schuler, etal, say to give it a month (for several reasons) but this balance thing is not easily resolved by simple math.
