Wasn't always fit...

This will probably bring out some negative comments, but here it goes anyways...I'm so excited that I've recently hit my goal weight. I'm happy with where I am, but it's a lot of work to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I put effort everyday into working out properly and watching what I eat. But I'm so tired of the assumption that because I'm healthy now that I've always been skinny. Or that I don't have other health issues that contribute to my eating habits and diet. I don't let it get to me too much, but every now and again I see posts on MFP where people compain about 'skinny' people doing something they don't like. I don't know about you, but I want to be skinny and don't want people turning their nose up at me when I've worked really hard to get here. For all I know that skinny person I've just screamed at in my mind has worked damn hard to get where she is.

I'd just like to remind whoever reads this to never assume that the thin/fit/skinny person next to you wasn't once overweight.

I am far from a skinny person but thanks for the reminder. Sometimes we need to walk in someone else shoes.

I often wonder about this when I see those "skinny b!tches have no idea how hard it is for me!" posts. I imagine those people would be at least a little upset if they were successful in reaching their goals only to be dismissed by others as clueless.
  • Amen. People just need to stop judging no matter the weight of the other person and instead supporting each other.

And I'll also try and remind myself that not everyone on here is a woman!
