daily goals

I am new the this site and have been enjoying it. However, my daily goal says I sould be eating 199 carbs a day. This makes me nervous. Does anyone know why it is that much? I know I have been told "carbs are bad" but I think BAD carbs are BAD. There are a lot of carbs in foods that are good for you like fruit, nuts etc. So what do you think? Is 199 carbs too much to try and consume in a day?
