Stretchmarks...

I had a little boy 6.5 months ago but I had stretchmarks even before I got pregnant.:embarassed:
Now I have them SO BAD! Even on my sides they go from my love handles all the way up my side and ribs and all the way around my torso :(((
They're also still angry red and just look awful.
I understand that they won't go away but I need to know that there's hope that they won't always look so awful:frown:
Does anyone have any before/after pictures of their stretchmarks through weight loss? I carry all my weight in my midsection which is probably why mine are so bad but I plan on starting Insanity when it comes in the mail. I want to lose weight and tone up so I don't end up with lots of hanging skin. I'm still young so I'm praying that my elasticity is still good enough!

I have them pretty bad, but mine have always been white/silver and have always looked faded.. After 2 kids I'm confident that if I lose enough weight I can get a flattish tummy.

I use massive amounts of cocoa butter. I don't like the way it smells. It doesn't make them go away but if I put it on before bed I wake up and they look faded.

Three kids - the youngest is 30 - and I still have my stretch marks. Not encouraging, I'm sorry. But they are faded quite a bit. I could never wear a bikini again, but my abs look pretty good for an old granny.

Love this, even though it looks photoshopped.

I think most of the time stretch marks do fade, they're usually red when they're new. I had my son 11 months ago, but never got any stretch marks from him, he was 3 months premature so I never got big. I do have plenty of them from being overweight though, they are all really light though. I'm pretty fair skinned so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I can feel them though, kinda like grooves in my skin, yuck!

They fade with time, angry red to purple-ish, pink and finally silver/whitish.
I had really deep and wide ones after having my son, They did shrink and get less deep after some time. Maybe that was due to my skin tightening up some.
Sadly they never go away, but they do look better given some time :)

    Hi there,
I too have lots of stretch marks and I DON'T have children.

Mine are mainly on the lower half of my tummy, below my belly button and front of my hips/thighs.
It feels like i've always had them but i'm sure they came along during pubity when I put on ALOT of weight.

Use a good quality body butter like shea butter or coco butter. Oils can be quite good too like BioOil.
I found that with the weight loss, the exercise helped to minimise loose skin but the marks will always be there but will fade and become lighter.

I know its hard being young and having them, especially when they are so bad. But they are part of you and are your 'road map' of your lifes journey & your successes (that being your children (-: )

They will get better is time, I promise :-)

Cocoa butter does help, virgin coconut oil works even better. I use both.
