Pilates question

Sorry if this has been asked before (I looked for a while first and was unable to find an answer on my own) but where does Pilates fall on the exercise scale? I can only find it on cardiovascular but I thought it was primarily strength training? Also, my protein intake is set at 48 per day, but should I increase my protein intake on days I do Pilates?

  • I do pilates once a week, and I log it as cardio, but I think of it as both. My regular teacher goes very fast, and I am drenched in sweat and burn upwards of 600 calories in an hour. When I take it from another teacher, we go very slow, with more emphasis on strength and form, and I think of it more as strength training. I always eat something protein related immediately afterward--some almonds, beef jerky--something. Hope that helps! :)
