Looking for a workout buddy - AZ, USA?

Not sure if this should go in this category or not, but I am looking for a workout buddy. I live in Arizona and it seems like there is no one around that likes to go to the gym and workout when they are just getting started and everyone that already goes already have people they go with and are in shape so it makes me kind of nervous to be there when I have so much to lose.
Does anyone else have that problem or is that just me?
