ALLERGIC TO BANANAS? and disappointed every time a yummy sounding recipe is posted and it contains them? Or just me.

It's probably the biggest let down ever. lol If my banana allergy wasn't so severe I would almost risk it because some things sound so delicious.

Yes, I've been allergic to them since my early 20s. Developed the allergy around the same time as I developed hayfever while I was pregnant with my second child. :( I used to love the taste of them.

That sucks but I guess it wouldn't suck that much for me just because I don't like em that much honestly.

I'm allergic to tomatoes and eat them religiously. I've heard it's really bad to eat things your allergic too because it can make the allergies worse. So, do as I say, not as I do. :)

I seemed to grow into my allergy, though. Wasn't until early high school I realized I had allergies (lactose intolerance, tomatoes, and severe seasonal) and athletes asthma. However, I'm not quite sure that that's when I developed them, or it finally realized that it's not normal for my mouth to sting when I eat tomatoes or my stomach to hurt when I drink a glass of milk or have to live in my basement the first week of every season change :)

Lol, maybe there's other alternatives that are like the banana taste/texture. You should look into it. I had a friend that was allergic to all fruit and veggies... how awful would that be?!

I've read that you can substitute pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie filling) as a substitution for mashed bananas in baking.

Thanks for your input ladies! I have a lot of other allergies too, including a mild nut allergy and slight lactose intolerance, and I can't really eat red meat. Somehow, I've survived. lol
