Well sh^t son...I thought I was getting in shape.

Then I biked for the first time today. Jogging is not a problem but that 12mph bike ride for 40 minutes really kicked my cardio *kitten*. It looks like me next goal after the half marathon on Sept. 23 is to get in shape over the fall/winter for a mini triathlon next spring. I use to bike all the time when I was a kid and it never seemed too bad.

12mph is a decent average speed. Welcome back to the saddle. I'm just getting riding again after about one year. My wife and I had our first child and I have been pulling her in a trailer.

I jogged when I was in high school and I don't have any desire to do that again. I swear my shins are still aching from it.

    It's transferable fitness or something.
You can be brilliant in one area as you work at it but trying to transfer that to different muscles etc is hard!
I used to run for an hour a day, do general resistance training and felt really fit.
So I thought I'd try swimming.
    I almost drowned!
I was exhausted after a few lengths!

    I know how you feel!!
    :O)

keep at it and you'll soon find it's transferable.

(I hope I've used that erm properly)
