Food frustration...

I'm only on day 2 of my lifestyle change, so I know it can take a while to get the hang of things, as far as eating right and exercising. BUT, per my diet diary I am constantly having issues staying below the sugar allotments on MFP. I'm only allowed 24mg a day. I don't take in nearly as much sugar as I did when I was drinking soda non stop, energy drinks, and sugary snacks. But I still seem to be going either OVER or slightly over...and this is without fresh fruit. Is the allowed amount of sugar on MFP even realistic? Will I still lose weight even if I am slightly over in my sugar? If I drink juice, I drink those that have 5mg or less, and only one serving a day. 2 servings of fruit a day, and that's it.
I just find it very hard to stay under what MFP allows, but reach my caloric goals....I'm very frustrated. I can't possibly eat back my calories without going over somewhere. I have been doing Insanity(2nd day) and I have been doing extra core workouts like crunches as I have a hard time keeping my core tight during workouts due to hernia surgery scarring and pain. Anyways, can anyone offer me any advice? I lost close to 5lbs about 3 months ago when I did Insanity before, and changed my diet, but got set back after I was laid up for 12 weeks from hernia surgery.
My short term goal is to lose 15lbs, my long term goal is about 35lbs. I'm currently 4'11 and weigh 133(give or take from water weight) and a BMI of 27.0.
I'm getting married in October, and would LOVE to have the 15lbs gone so I can fit in my dress better.
Thanks!
