Gaining weight

Over the past week I have gained about 2.6 lbs.
I have been eating between 1,500 and 2,000 calories per day while burning between 300 and 700 calories per day through exercise. I work out every day by doing cardio and strength training.
I was doing a Arms&Chest/Shoulders&Back/Legs split while jogging every other day (just started C25k). But now that I'm not feeling sore the day after I work out I'm going to an Upper/Lower body split and jogging every other day and biking on the days I don't jog.
I'm hoping that the weight gain is just muscle gain and that I'm also losing some fat.
Has anybody else gone through this?
