I just got introduced to it. I should say re-intrduced. The first time I tried it, I tossed it right back up. It was homemade. I love calamari sushi and the my new favorite is OH BABY-crab, veggie, wrapped in tuna with an amazing sauce. I loved it. My son love the catapillar. EEL. My daughter loves it all. She is becoming a pro with the chopsticks.

My fave is the spicy tuna roll. But, my doctor says I shouldn't have it more than twice a month, because of the mercury concerns. Other types aren't as much a concern, but I have a spicy tuna addiction of some sort.

My old favorite (I can't have the wheat in the tempura now) is the "green dragon roll". It's so pretty when it comes to the table, too. The chef makes it look like a little dragon usually. . .the kids would love it.

I guess I know who I'm calling for lunch tomorrow. . .

Ahhh, one of the many delights of living in Seattle. Fantastic sushi, just about everywhere.

    My favorites:

    Spider Roll
    Rainbow Roll
    Washington Roll
    Salmon Skin Roll
    Spicy Scallop Roll

The list goes on and on - I love sashimi too.

I'm with Vivakay - I now know what I'll be having for lunch tomorrow!

I just learned 2 weeks ago that my favorite sushi place delivers to my apartment....
Sushi has been my dinner for about 4 nights since then.
I LOVE avocado rolls with tons of ginger.
Chirashi is usually my pick. extra ginger.

I'm so jealous of you guys that have sushi so close. The nearest to us is a three or four hour drive. And the really good stuff is about 7 hours. Had it last week when we went downstate, it'll be months and months before I get it again:cry:

Yup. We make our own california rolls, have tried doing the tuna sashimi, but we always seem to cut the tuna too thick. Can't fit it in your mouth so easy... lol Making the rolls ourselves, we've found that we don't like it out as much, because we make our sticky rice with the rice vinegar, and restaurants usually use plain rice. Ours just has so much flavor!

Sushi is my expensive addiction... I live in Minnesota... Not nearly as cheap as on the coastal areas. My brother and sister-in-law introduced me to it when I was 14. It was love at first bite!!!!!!!!!
I introduced my oldest to it when she was three. Even at school she admits that sushi is her all-time favorite food. Even though the other kids tease he about eating "raw fish".
My other two kids have food allergies and I don't know how long I should wait before introducing them... I know it is supposed to be quite a bit longer of a wait for kids that are prone to allergic reactions to foods. Even kids with Eczema should wait far longer than kids with no allergies or skin conditions.
My 11 year old and I try to find stupid things to celebrate just so we can go pig out on sushi. mmmmm!!!!

In general, it's recommended not to introduced shellfish to kids until the age of 5. Since they already have a higher predisposition for food allergies, I'd ask a doc first.
