Possible Reason Why We Cheat

Don't know if someone else already posted this article but it's an interesting study into why some people "cheat" on their diet. 100% deprivation is not the way to go. We're human and we will all have moments of weakness which can cause us to stumble on our diet. Instead of waiting for that moment to come and going overboard when it does, plan it in.
"The key here is planning the indulgence rather than waiting until you have absolutely nothing left in the tank. It’s in the latter moments of desperation that you throw yourself on the couch with the whole pint of ice cream, not even making a pretense of portion control, and go to town while watching your favorite TV show. "
In other words, it could be a good strategy to allow yourself to eat whatever you want for say, 2 meals a week. This is what I did and it has worked wonderfully.

I've read things like this in the past. i 100% agree with not depriving yourself as IMO it just leads to a binge. you should always allow yourself what you want. if you are binging or not taking care of your body by eating foods that are not healthy for you there is other emotional stuff going on that really has nothing to do with food.
we all focus so much about the food (its easier to do imo) and spend little time on the emotional work (the hard *real* work imo) that needs to be done.0
