Study found discrepencies in exercise machine caloric burn estimates (and heart-rate monitors) from actual caloric burns ranging from 7% overestimate in exercise bikes to 42% over estimate in ellipticals. Also found 28% overestimate in heart-rate monitors. Gives some tips on how to adjust your own estimate.
