Healthy Gut & Weight Loss

Has anyone here lost weight simply by overcoming digestive issues? ie: correcting an unhealthy gut?
If so, how did you: 1. Find out about it? 2. Overcome/treat it.
I'm curious, as sometimes weight issues accompany inflammation and poor digestion--and I'm looking into that for my (allergy-ridden/digestive-challenged) self!
Thanks!

I cut out meat and my horrible digestive issues went away (mostly), but it wasn't until I went totally vegan that the weight came off. So...yes and no? The cheese still bothered my system, so when I got rid of it I felt great and thats when the weight came off.0
