I just bought a BodyMedia Fit... it is charging right now :-) I was wondering if anyone else here has one? I would like to see if there is any way to see how charged the battery actually is?

While it's charging, hover your mouse over the BodyMedia Fit icon in your taskbar and it will show you the percentage.

When it's not plugged into the computer, there's no way to find out.

Thank you!! Do you have one as well? I am trying to get the hang of it... I have the LINK and it seems a bit picky when trying to use the bluetooth on my Android LOL

I have the Advantage. It usually holds a good charge for 2 days at least. I have never gone longer than that without recharging it, so I don't know how much more time I could get, but I don't think mine has ever been below 60-70% when I have charged it. Also, I can get it fully charged in about 15 minutes while I take my shower.

Good to know!!! Have you found it useful? I am hoping it gives me a better idea of what I sm doing wrong... I am also trying to log my food into the BMF website today instead of here (although MFP's database is SOOOOO much better). If I log it into BMF, I think I can get some info back on it.

I have the Body Media Fit and I love it. The food database sucks so I would suggest to continue logging your food here on MFP then just create one meal on BMF that has your entire day's totals. That's what I do anyway. I have lost and average of 1.3 pounds per week since I got it back at the end of March. It was really eye opening to see how many calories that I burn on a daily basis. Good luck!

Would you mind sharing what calorie intake you were at before buying it and what the BMF said you were burning? How much are you eating now?

I forgot my USB cable at home so I can't sync while at work but as of a minute ago on my phone, it has me at 816 burned...

Also, when you say enter it as one meal... do you enter the calories and all of the macros as well? Thanks!!

I got one when I started with Jenny Craig a couple months back. I've stopped going and my account just expired..I plan on restarting my subscription this week.

I love mine as it gives me a great overall view of my day.

I was eating around 1600-1800 before the Body Media Fit. I now eat around 2000(give or take) I generally burn 3000+ calories per day including exercise. And yes, I include the macros that I track on MFP when I enter on BMF.

In january I started at 1200 calories (just like everyone else).... I quickly upped it to 1400. I have recently been eating between 1600-1800 per day but I think I may have to up it...

So Steph1278 - You are losing about a pound a week eating 2000 calories?

Yes I am. I lost 1.8 this past week, but my average since I have had the BMF is 1.31. I try to keep my deficit around 1000 calories per day. Sometimes it's more and sometimes it's less. That leaves a little room for error because BMF isn't 100% accurate and I also don't weigh my food or anything. I do measure things like milk, cereal, dressing, etc, but I'm not perfect. In any case, it's working for me.

That is good to know! What do you do for exercise? I usually do the ARC trainer at my gym but I am not sure the BMF would work right?? I am going to wear it tonight during 30 day shred though... I also weight train as well.

I walk on my breaks at work, run 3-4 miles 3x per week, take a Zumba class, and also do strength training.
  • Hi There,

Thanks for trying out the BodyMedia FIT! Your battery level should pop up whenever you plug or unplug your device from your computer. The notification should appear at the bottom of the screen.

Also you can check your charge at any time by holding down the button on your device. A colored light should appear indicating your charge: green indicates a full charge, orange means less than a full charge, and red indicates you need to recharge. Your device should also beep if it is in need of recharging. Depending on the type of Armband you have, the average battery life is between 3 and 7 days.

    Hope this helps!
