I have questions for you fitness people. Well, people who do it more than I do (which is prolly everyone) but anyway.
Bear with me please....
Im over ....ummmm.....aaaaaa......errrrrrrrr..........aaaa.... 40 :blushing: :blushing: well, kinda over 50 a lil even. Ive been busted up big time over the years (including a broken back twice and a fractured neck). I have MANY titanium joints, pins, plates and screws from my neck to my ankles literally. I suffer chronic pain syndrome unequaled. My doctors that have viewed my full body scans always ask if I was in a plane crash because they look so bad.
Add to this I am type 2 diabetic for 13 years. I take insulin because Im allergic to most oral meds. And of course I have weight to lose big time.............like at least 100 lbs to go. (Ive dropped just shy of 35 at last weigh in)
What Im getting at is this.............I find I am in love with working out at home. I love the whole idea of weight lifting more than anything. Stretching and just plain old fashion exercise. I also like walking. What I want to know from those of you who do it is..........what would be best for me to buy to further my workouts as I build to investing more time and more variety. I would love the Total Gym or something along that line but on a little smaller scale.
Anybody got some good advice?

Get wrist and ankle weights and wear them when you're walking!0

A good old fashion weight bench- a bar and nice set of weights - no reason to stock it as heavy as possible right now, if buying piece by piece.
Free weights, dumb bells, kettle balls in a few weights. Id rather have free weights over a machine any day. A little research on the subject will explain it better than I .. or one of the resident experts will be along.
Also a big ball- go to youtube for a zillion ways to use that. A yoga mat, the fitness ball, free weights and youtube - you will never run out of work outs!0 -
I have an elliptical at home and I love it. It's also easy on the knees/joints0
