If you burn calories by working out, you need to replace them in order for your body to function properly and be healthy. If you are following MFP, it already creates a deficit in calories, so you will lose weight without any exercise. Work out to tone up and improve strength/stamina/balance, not necessarily to lose weight. Unless you really overdid it on the food that day and need to burn to get to a good calorie count, eat back what you burn to get to the MFP calorie number.
If you eat 1400 calories a day and then burn 500 working out, your body is only getting 900 calories, which isn't healthy. You won't be able to keep it up like that for long without feeling tired and not having energy.0
