Shirataki or Yam Noodles - A Japanese Diet secret

Anyone else have these before? They have absolutely NO dietary value, come already "cooked" and are great for those who can't have many carbs as they have NONE!

I've put them in broth and tonight in Spagetti sauce (yeah I know...soo Western of me, but I wanted turkey meatballs) and if you can first get over the smell of the murky but translucent liquid they come in and the strange (to us westerners) chewy texture then they work great. They will usually soak up the taste of anything you put them in.

I think they are usually just in Asian Markets but I may have first found them in Walmart. And sometimes in refrigerated area and sometimes on shelf (they don't need to be refrigerated until opened).

They aren't much of a secret anymore you'll find and they have more fibre than ordinary pasta.

There are some really huge threads about the noodles on here. The brand I had for lunch today is called Slim Pasta and another brand I've heard talked about is Miracle noodles. Yes it has soluble fibre.
