Fitbit, MFP Exercise relationship

I'm brand new to MFP, and am using a Fitbit Ultra, along with a Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor, that I use when I am doing weight training, every other day. My question is that I don't use the information on the FT7 when I use the treadmill, (which is every day), as I figure the steps function of the Fitbit will "take care" of any calories burned then. However, when doing the weight training, I DO use the numbers from the Polar FT7, as the weight training is generally stationary exercise, and the Fitbit doesn't pick up on that.

My question is that I have entered an "Personal Exercise" into MFP, and called it Weight training from Polar FT7. I used the "cardio" function so I would enter the time, and calories burned. However, I do about a mile a day on the treadmill, and do not log anything in MFP, as the Fitbit should enter any calories burned into MFP, I would think. Now, the heart of the question is that I see during days that I don't enter any exercise information, I see numbers decreasing the food intake calories, and an entry in the exercises function that I did not put in. It is listed as "Fitbit Calorie Adjustment". Is this actually FROM the Fitbit, as an adjustment to the estimated calorie burn, or is this something I have entered incorrectly.

Can anyone tell me the exact relationship between the Fitbit, and MFP, ie. how does MFP use the information that is logged through the Fitbit. Is there an arbitrary point at which the information from the Fitbit actually alters the daily logs?
Thanks, I know this is lengthy, but I'm trying to explain as clearly as I can, and once again, I'm a brand new user to MFP, (compared to the "other" program, MFP is IMHO much better, by the way), and don't completely understand how it all works together.

From the sounds of it I do exactly what you do. The FItBit adjustment is anything you earned above and beyond what MFP already assumes you would burn in a day. So days you treadmill it would likely be higher than non-treadmill days - but both could have an adjustment. When you enter the weight training it will adjust the automated added calories accordingly.

Okay, that makes sense, and is along the lines of what I was thinking it was doing. I was just worried that I may have done something to throw the thing off, I've gone from over 300lbs down to 238, and am still working on it. I do like MFP more than the "other" program, and now that I understand it a bit more, I think it will be my primary program, along with the Withings scale, and the Fitbit.
Thanks for the info, I appreciate the super quick response!
