Tips on eatting at your calories?

Before I was eating over my calories daily, now I'm way under, how do I fix that? I don't want to fill up on empty crap.
I can ready nuts or anything really hard right now because I'm about to have work done on a couple teeth within the week and don't want to do more damage.
Any suggestions?
