my first 18lbs lost was because my friend asked me to do low carb with her. I think your diary looks good for the low carb. It really does work too!

Looks good to me! I would say the hard core Low Carbers go for full fat everything because the concentration of sugars in low fat products is usually higher so check out your mayo and see if you might be better with the full fat version. My only other comment would be to go easy on the eggs if you start having "regularity" issues and maybe take a fibre supplement and plenty of water if needed. you can get Psyllium husk capsules from health food stores that provide a good dose of fibre without adding carbs, I take them daily and have done for years as i can't use wheat or bran products due to gluten sensitivity. I also use flax seeds in a fruit smoothie as I've had to compromise my low carb intentions in favour of more fibre in my diet recently. But overall it look,s like you are doing fine and I'm sure you'll see results soon.

My suggestion would be to avoid "name brand" meals. I agree, regular mayonnaise would be much better.

Be very aware of the salt in those name-brand meals that I do see.

Consider actually making your meals from scratch that you need to prepare. It makes a much bigger difference. BTW - that McDonalds burger patty - I dont know if you are comfortable with 'mystery meat' but, a real burger make at home is so much more healthier than their processed burgers... IMHO

Try to keep things as natural as possible. Make sure you are getting your vegetables in because if you dont eat enough of them, it will cause problems moving your bowels (thus constipation and colorectal irritations can occur). Up your fats... but make sure those fats target the more natural sources: butter, olive oil, the fat on the meats, the skin on poultry, beef/sheep tallow, lard (which is pork belly fat), bacon all are excellent in low-carb intakes.

I work at McDonald's on the weekends for extra cash so it's just easier then to eat what is there :) but I try my best to stay away on weekdays :) a lot of the name brand stuff is just what is closest to what I am actually making. Most of it isn't in the database as homemade so I take what is closest in nutritional value but will definitely try to log more accurate

If you were to actually prepare a meal from real foods, it is very easy to record that information.

You are actually causing your weight loss efforts to be compromised if you dont log accurately.... Definitely consider putting forth the effort... it does make a difference 8-)

Hello! I've been low carbing for a.... I'd say a pretty long time now. In my opinion, it seems to be the quickest solution to weight loss.

I have some decent recipes if want any.

I took a look at your diary and what you're eating, I'd like to start off by saying way to hit it hard! Most people really suck with transitioning from a more sporadic diet to a low carb one. I can see that you're slowly figuring it out. Honestly anything under 80g/day is considered low carb but the less carbs you consume the more intense results you'll receive (this is only important later on when you've been on the diet for a short while).

Definitely a good job with your fats and protein. You can get your fat from so many different sources, the most of my fat actually comes from bacon and full-fat Greek yogurt in the evening. I saw a person mention earlier in this thread that many low-carbers will opt for full-fat products and this is very true! Since your body is being restricted of such an important macronutrient, you really need to ensure that this loss is compensated with higher protein and fat.

I think you've got the diet down fairly well, you'll probably learn to tweak things as you go along and then you'll pick up recipes to make the diet "fun".

As for the McDonald's, I would say go for the things you can be more certain about. I have eaten at McDonald's while on this diet and I really don't like throwing away the bread but I do =[ -- go for the grilled chicken, it's really your best bet. You already know well enough to stay away from anything with a bread coating (I love the fish fillets =[ ). You can check out my diary if you're looking for ideas. Disregard Saturday - Monday. I just came off a fast yesterday evening but I've been diligently logging for several weeks without fail.
