Am I doing something wrong?

So, I usually work out in the pool twice a week, do heavy cardio a third time a week, and on off days walk and do yoga. Last night, I swam really hard in the pool. I got home and about 2 hours after I was done, was doubled over in pain and felt weak and shaky. I only felt better after having a snack-- mfp said I still needed about 300 calories for the day. Should I be eating right after I get out of the pool? Am I drawing a connection that isn't there between needing to eat, and the post-workout discomfort? Thx. PS: This is the first time this has happened to me after working out.

Your body probably needed some sort of energy after the workout in the pool. I sometimes feel lightheaded after I workout, and a snack makes me feel better.

In my experience, swimming makes you very, very hungry--more so than most other workouts. Have something that will satisfy you that you can eat right when you get home or bring something with you to the pool to tide you over. Something like yogurt or PBJ will probably do.

Thanks, I'll try bringing something to eat after the pool. The pain was something, and I had to eat slow. I kept feeling like it was going to come up. When I finished, I felt better.
