Its my sons birthday today. We are getting together for a party on Saturday for him which means cake, cookies, ice cream and other stuff I can't have. I just really hope I'm strong enough to say no. I'm still going to be on phase 1 of South Beach so I can't even have just a little. I'm already dreading the chinese buffet he wants to go to today for lunch. Whats low carb at a chinese buffet?

At the chinese buffet, I would go for chicken and broccoli, string beans. Also, any combo of (non-battered) chicken and veggies...just don't eat the higher carb veg. You could probably eat the soup /broth/ too, just leave any wontons in the bowl.0

Go for meat with no breading, veggies (even if you have to pick th other stuff out), sushi (if they have it) but just the fish. Usually the one I go to has fruit and salad items. If it is a buffett, I am sure they have options. Good luck, willpower is everything!0

For the party, have a fruit plate too. For chips, try putting out some Popcorners or mutigrain chips, and salsa. Then if you find yourself nibbling -- eat the the fruit & healthier chips.
At a buffet - avoid anything batter fried. Soup, steamed veggies, lean meats with minimal sauce. And if you go over a little -- give yourself a break, it is a celebration & you an always put a little extra effort in your next workout. Good luck!0
