Calcitriol

I read an interesting post on this forum earlier today which was a link to an article about 50 weight loss/fitness tips (can't remember the username of the person that posted it, but thank you!). One of the tips mentioned that it was important to get enough calcium as adequate calcium levels suppress the hormone calcitriol, which is involved in fat production. I had not heard of this before so then looked into it a bit more and found that the hormone calcitriol is believed to increase fat storage and taking in more calcium can suppress calcitriol levels, therefore decreasing fat storage and also lowering your fat tissue's production of cortisol, which is known to increase visceral fat.

I was wondering if anyone knows more about this? I am particularly interested as I take a prescribed calcitriol tablet everyday for kidney problems due to it being an activated form of vitamin D.
Thank you!
