Glycemic Index

Does anyone here know a good source for a comprehensive Glycemic Index listing of foods. Most of the ones I see are pretty generic. Am I correct in thinking that food labels do not contain the glycemic index rating of the food (or am I blind and just not seeing it)- is there a way to calculate it, or is it just best to keep away from processed food altogether.
Thanks
Thanks

http://nutritiondata.self.com/ estimates it. Put the food in the box top right. Actually it estimates the Glycemic Load which is the grams of carbs multiplied by the GI/100.
http://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm has a list, there are others. The test is a bit complex and expensive, so you don't find many test results around of specific brands etc other than by chance.0 -
Try http://nutritiondata.self.com/ I don't know how self got involved it used to just be nutritiondata.com, but anyway you can search by food.0
