What happens if I don't eat my workout calories?

I was wondering what would happen if I didn't eat the calories I burn off during my workouts? Will my body go into starvation mode?
I got the link that explains how the daily summary works, but it's still very confusing. Can someone help me and dumb it down...a lot.

You'll lose weight. I never used to eat them. But if you eat more your body will get used to digesting more calories. This will increase your metabolism, and when you have an off day it wont kill your progress as much because your body will become a food burning machine!0
