How I lost the weight

Something happened in my life last year that pissed me off so much, and I found I was unable to do anything to about it. So I starved myself for a day. Ok, that proved nothing - BUT I decided if I couldnt control or change the people that upset me, I could at least control me - and I chose to control what I put in my mouth. Thus began my quest to learn all I could about healthy eating.
Out went the sugar.
Out went the processed foods
There. That's the secret. Get rid of that crap, replace it with whole foods, and you're well on your way to improved health and weightloss. Guaranteed.
Next year it will be one year of healthy eating. At first I logged every morsel I put in my mouth. When I got close to goal I stopped logging. And soon started gaining again. So back to logging I went. Tedius, but necessary for me. Other than the occassional pickleball game and some gardening I don't exercise.
I started noticing a change right away. And lost 22 lbs. 22 lbs! Just by eating healthy! No starving. No fad diets. No pills. I could even have the occassional treat with no regrets! (now I choose healthier treats - such as healthier home baked goodies).
Today I weigh 123 lbs (I'm 5') and feel better than I have in a long long time. There's a spring in my step, I must say. And my husband has noticed!
My diet has evolved quite a bit too. At first I started eating less and less meat. Now I'm a vegan. Love it! (if you haven't seen the documentary Forks over Knives, I recommend it). Of course veganism isn't for everyone - but it's helped me (ie: the bloating is gone).
Anyways, that's my story. Everyone has their own personal weightloss journey, but this is what worked for me.
Here's to your health!

Hubby and I just watched forks over knives the other night...very interesting stuff. I have already been weaning out the processed crap and now even milk. This is coming from a junk food/ carnivorous family lol.0
