Polar FT4 Question

I was having problems with it about a month ago where it was losing my HR. Got that problem fixed, (thanks to all that helped with it) but now it's acting up again. Tonight I was taking a simple walk outside, but it was telling me that my HR was 190. I stopped, took the HRM off, reset it so that it had to re-pick up my HR and it set it back at 124 which would have been about right for the speed that I was walking at. But not 30 seconds later, it shot back up to 184ish.

Anyone have thoughts? Could the batteries needing to be changed cause this kind of issue?

Thank you thank you!

I just got my Polar ft4 so I'm guessing here; try changing the battery. If that doesn't work, contact the company.

First check your HR manually to see what it is. If that seems normal then try to reposition the chest strap sensor and be certain that the electrodes are slightly moist. If still no luck then contact Polar.

I think contacts on the strap need to be in good position, and make sure they are moist, (just spit on 'em). I had some problems when I walked under some transformers, put it up to 190 range. But after that I put new batteries in bothe the band and watch and it seems to be performing well now. I have a new balance, but I suspect they all work mainly in the same fashion.
