I found a few similar posts about this but none were very helpful. I am in an area not good for walking but I want to try and walk daily anyway so I thought I might try walking in place.

I looked up walking in place here as an exercise but there were no results. I've looked it up at other sites but I get different answers and don't know which to trust.

Basically, how do I log walking in place at a moderate or fast pace, so I know how many calories I'm burning.

I have a simple walking pedometer, but when I put it on my waist it doesn't work, should I put it on my ankle? It seems to work there..

Please help.

Blessed Be,
Candice

If you know the steps and time, you can translate the miles. When you take the miles and the time together, you'll get a min per mile which will help with calories burned. It's roughly 2000 steps per mile.

I do leslie sansone walk at home videos, and they are usually 12 mins per mile at a pretty brisk pace.

Otherwise, I have a fitbit, which for me was a great investment.
  • Leslie Sansone videos are the best! You can find them on ebay for pretty reasonable prices and she has all different levels for your needs!

    Good luck!!
  • Thank you both so much! I'm even more motivated now for working out at home. I just ordered Leslie Sansone: Walk Away the Pounds Ultimate Collection and it should be here by Saturday. Between what everyone said here and the reviews I read, I think I'm really going to enjoy the dvds and actually be able to do it!
