Introducing myself

Hi
Are there many in my age group here? I'm 55.
Been overweight for about 25 years, officially obese for about 20. It all started when I gave up the cigs.
I'm a chocolate lover but have sworn off until I reach my first goal of 90kg.(198lb). Then I'm going to have some but without going over my calorie allowance.
I love the control the calorie counting gives me. I can eat anything and organise round my existing recipes and lifestyle. It's pretty painless.
I've only been on a few days and lost just 3lb but feel confident there will soon be further loss.
I used to enjoy step aerobics but as i never lost weight doing it ended up with very creaky knees. Nowadays I stick to swimming and low impact cross trainer at the gym plus walking and stationary bike.
Using this system is like my internet banking. I have so much to spend and prefer to keep a small surplus in hand, aiming never to go overdrawn. I'm in UK. Married, kids, youngest nearly 30. It's just me and my man at home now (he isn't as fat as me but wouldn't hurt to lose a bit and he's quite enthusiastic about MFP as well). I do a job three days a week with a commute so gym opportunities are limited to twice a week.
