Even at my thinnest and fittest I have ALWAYS had what I consider icky inner thighs. No matter what I do I can't seem to get them to firm up at all! I don't want legs of steel but a little more tone to them would be great! Tips, suggestions, fellow sob story??

Kickboxing has really been toning my butt and thighs. It has previously too (before I quit working out.. and am now never quitting again). All of those kicks really work your legs. Try all sorts of squats and maybe leg lifts. (What I do is get an exercise ball and rest on my side on it with my arm touching the floor. The bottom leg is bent for support and you lift the upper leg for a thigh workout).

I hope that helps some. I can see a difference, but as of right now I still have the jiggly thighs because I still have 50lbs to go!

I would do a thigh exercise on my own. I would start with no weights and just raise one leg up (I had to lean against something) and hold for as long as you can and just repeat like 15-20 times. Then go to the next leg. I am now using weights on my legs.

    Good luck

    Ditto

But I like the advice given in this post.... Especially kickboxing... That worked for me back in the day also. I plan on picking it up again... They offer a class at the gym here where I do zumba
  • some women just tend to carry fat in their inner thighs, even if they are thin. this is fine. if it bothers you too much, then i suggest squats.

For me, I put deodorant on my thighs and that keeps me from chaffing. I always wore spandex until I discovered this little secret. :P Plus, I can wear skirts now and not be worried about chaffing / wearing spandex under them.

I'm not alone!! I've been using powder and gold bond cream every summer for so long to keep my thighs from chafing! One day this summer I didn't do it-and I was walking around DC for 9 hours...in shorts....oh the pain!!!!

I've been doing some lunges and squats in the hopes that it will help tone them us somewhat! Strangely enough, whenever I bemoan my unfourtunate luck to have touching thighs, my husband looks at me and goes "but isn't that normal?" Me, "I don't think so". Him, "well I think it's sexy and can't really imagine you with your thighs being thin!" :smooched:

Even pre children when I weighed in at 95#'s my thighs rubbed together. At one point I was so heavy (183) that I didn't notice it for awhile...as if all of the fat stuck together so much it didn't move when I was walking. (gross!).

I have tried to accept this about myself but it is hard.:grumble:

My daughters think that everyone wears spandex bike shorts under dresses and skirts and think that when I buy bathing suits with the bottom being shorts I am just being modest.

I loved the quote "chubby rubbies"

I think it IS normal, truth be told. A bit of an inconvenience, but normal. I figure as long as I'm fit, I'm not going to worry about my thighs.

They do come in different colors, i think blue. grey, etc., but they mostly come in black.

I do have two pair in white and one "tummy and thigh shaper" that is so stretched out is is quite comfy and that is in nude. Really between the two black, the two white and the one nude I am all set.

I also have a tummy and thigh shaper I wear sometimes... its a neutral tan sort of color...
That's all I have to wear under something...
I Have never tried the deoderant trick... I have used baby powder though...
The only time it really bothers me is if it is hot and I'm sweaty (sorry TMI) That is the only time that I chafe down there...

AND.....CHUBBY RUBBIES!!! That is classic!!!!! LOVE IT

I'm going to look into the shapers or spandex shorts. I think it will greatly eliminate some of the chafing!! While touching thighs may be "normal" and no indicator of fitness, I do still find it a BIG inconvenience!
