Couponing...

I decided to give it a try because I spend WAY too much on groceries every week! Any suggestions or tips? I started googling the brands I usually buy to see if I could find coupons that way, but I didn't find too much...

    I used to coupon furiously.
I started with coupon mom.com. And would go off the links there. It's rather time consuming but when my kids were small, it really saved money, especially on diapers, etc.
I created an excel spreadsheet with all the items I usually buy and then compare the prices at all the local store flyers every week. I saved even more in time. I was addicted...like a gambler. I had my binder and my coupon organizer ready at all times.

Then for reasons I won't bore you with. I stopped. We eat mostly no processed foods now, there are no coupons for that. Other than laundry detergent and paper goods, it wasn't worth my time anymore.

But to be honest I average $50+ more a week now in groceries. My kids are bigger now and I'm not as thorough as I used to be.

Good luck and it is addicting.

Thanks! We don't eat too much processed foods either, but my kids are still little, so cereal, juice, toiletries, paper products...stuff like that adds up fast! I average $200/wk for a family of 4...

I have a desk job, so when I'm bored, I've been trying to find some stuff online, but it definitely seems time consuming!

I'm going to pay attention to this thread. I'm always interested in saving a few dollars. With the drought in the mid west, food prices are expected to rise considerably.
