I am not a distance runner. i ran hurdles, relays, and no more than the 200y sprint in high school. i always poop out at that second straight on the track. so when i RAN a lap, SPRINTED half, walked and SPRINTED another half, and RAN the last 1/4 mile....after an hour of tennis and an hour of HIIT earlier, i was thrilled
Even if it was a pitiful 13 minute mile.
