So I bought this Jillian Michaels DVD about a year ago and have used it maybe 20 times in that year. I started doing it again last week and could only do the first three circuits before I came crashing down and skipped to the stretching at the end.
Now I alternate between Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, Weight Loss Yoga and The 30 Day Shred. Last night I did BFBM and made it almost to the end (there were only three circuits left). I was on the floor doing the mountain climbers and I felt both my hips pop. I figured it was just some innocent crackage of joints that aren't use to moving like that. So I pushed through the floor exercise and went into the next kick boxing circuit.
It hurt a lot...and bad. So I skipped to the stretching. When we do the wide V sit and lean forward...I couldn't even get my elbow to touch the ground...and I can usually put my forehead on the ground (I may be large, but I'm usually bendy). I knew I messed up something.
So I went to bed and this morning, I could not get out of bed. My son brought me a heating pad and after he got onto the bus, I dozed for about 20 minutes. Now I am forcing myself up and out of bed. It hurts like a mother but I figure if i stay in bed all day and milk it, it won't get better. So I am going to get a warm shower in and hope that helps loosen things up. I don't think I will be working out tonight and if I do, it will most likely be yoga.
I have to learn not to push myself too far. I am a beginner and therefore I must workout like one. :grumble:

Lol...so true. There such a fine line between pushing yourself and pushing too hard...it sucks doesn't it?
You may want to ice that too. Heat may aggrivate it more. I'd google that symptom to find out more about it.0 -
If I were you, I would make an appointment with the chiropractor, that "popping" sound was not meant to be and you may aggravate into the back etc;! I visit mine quite regular due to the physical exercise that I do! Also you need to stretch before a strenuous workout AND when you finish! Instead of just quitting the workout maybe skip to the stretch when you are feel about to drop! You will make the cool down/stretch plus it will slowly bring the heart rate back to normal! I do wish you well and I want you to continue in your fitness!0

I did! I went crawling in to him yesterday afternoon. I am feeling much better today, but I am still going to take it easier...well, kind of. I'm doing yoga tonight instead of the high intensity stuff jillian has.0
