Today I ate a pretty high calorie breakfast and then a snack prob like 3 hours later (high calorie as well) in those 2 things i ate more than half my caloric intake for the day so about 600 cals...well my plan was to snack throughout the day on low cal things like fruits until dinner time...so i ate my apple already and then i planned on having an orange an hour from now....that way my cals will be at around 800 going into dinner time...but I was wonderin if maybe i should just eat a soup??...because i feel that if i dont eat a lunch then ill just supper pig out at dinner time which ultimately is way worse...

I've been reading up on nutrition advice and, from what I've read, you should eat 25% of your daily calories for breakfast and 50% by the end of lunch. I think most dieters get in this habit of eating as little as possible during the day and then pigging out at night, but studies have shown that you do better with weight loss, if you make your evening calories light and start off with a solid base in the AM.
I now have a protein shake in the mornings at around 350-450 calories and even that isn't always 25% of my calories (I'm on maintenance). But I'm working on it!
I would eat something protein-based for lunch and afternoon snack and fill in with veggies as needed. Protein will stick with you longer and get you through the afternoon without a lot of snacking. I usually have FAGE yogurt, cheese sticks or hard-boiled eggs for my afternoon snack.0 -
I know that if I come home from work hungry, I'm almost irrationally angry with hunger. I have to spread my calories throughout the day so I don't come home like a crazed animal. When I've lost weight in the past, I've been successful with a large breakfast, a medium lunch, and a light supper. Then I try to get a lot of things done around the house, or do evening activities with my family, and get to bed early so I don't snack. So that's what I'm doing now, and so far, pretty good. Getting used to lower overall calories though.0

I had celery with Laughing Cow light today - yummy and satisfying, for 50 cals. (1 stick and 2 wedges)0

"crazed animal"? LOL soo funny. I'm like that too.
In fact I'm using the same technique as u are! I find that I concentrate better at work with a big break fast, med lunch and light dinner + 2 snacks in between. Sometimes I can barely eat all 1200 cals.0 -
I agree with everyone so far, eat a filling breakfast, have a snack a few hours later, have a filling lunch, have another snack and have a small dinner and I'll usually top the evening off with like 2 table spoons of peanut butter, low carbs, high protien and good for you stuff to feed your body while you sleep.
You're looking good hang in there and keep your chin up

It's exactly like a crazed animal because, when I get in that state, I tell people "I want to kill something. And then eat it."0

You could also do a workout to get to eat more as well.0
