Hi!
I'm curous about the Visalus "body By vi" shake 90 day challenge. I don't really like reading testimonials from the products website, as it dosent really seem "real life" like. I'm thinking about doing the 90 day challenge with the 2 a day shakes. Has anyone tried it or have opinions? I want to hear some real life testimonials!
Thanks, and best of luck,
Cassie

My advice would be to save your money.

A local distributor approached my trainer about selling this stuff. He took a look into it, and very quickly declined.

    There are no magic bullets.

I don't really get what the big deal is about these things. There's nothing magic about them; replacing meals with low-calorie substitutes can result in a caloric deficit and cause weight loss. It's just like doing the "challenges" offered by Special K or Slim Fast. But you could do the same thing with real food instead, and I know I'd rather eat actual food than down shakes a couple times a day. If that's your thing though, go ahead.

I honestly don't understand the shake thing. How do you learn to eat real food in manageable portions every day for the rest of your life if that isn't what you are doing now? I've certainly known lots of people who took off loads of weight really fast on a variety of shake diets. Most of them regained it and more equally fast as soon as they stopped the shakes.

I've seen that Body By Vi infomercial. It is so full of misleading health and nutrition statements I can't believe they haven't been called out on it. Like you would have to eat 8000 calories of food to get the nutrition of their shake. The shake consists of a lot of unpronounceable chemicals. No, that's not better than real food that came from the earth.

Verdict: eat real food. Be patient.
  • I use it. 2 shakes a day and it works. there is a bunch of different flavors.
i was using it for a while and it was working for me but then i got tired of not having cereal for breakfast cause thats what im used to so i stopped but i recently started again last week. doing those and excersing will do you good. i havent had any problems with it so far.

    ^^^^this.

Long term weight reduction and maintenance requires lifestyle changes you can continue. You have to learn new eating habits, new ways to cook, the RIGHT things to cook, etc. You're not learning good habits and skills with a shake.

The ingredients are a chemistry lesson. Fresh, healthy, whole foods prepared correctly and in proper portions will net you a better result for life.

Save your money. It really is not worth the price, very expernsive. Make shakes with fruit, yogurt, milk/juice, protein powder (if you really need it). Juicing veggies and fruit works too. But don't fall for the hype and save your money.

You will find on here that much of the negative feedback you get is from people who have not actually tried the shakes, so how can you receive true testimonies. Filter through these as you wish. And note that I said "much" not "all."

Visalus is a reputable company that offers a 30 day money back no questions asked guaranty. I say try it, see if you like it. If you dont, send them back your empty bags and they will refund your money.

I looked into it, but I actually prefer to buy fresh, natural ingredients and just make my own shakes. It's fun to come up with different combinations and it's cheaper, and I can still make low calorie combinations that keep me full for hours.

I agree with the others, save your money.

Also, you don't need to try a product to see if it lives up to its magical claims, all you need to do is look at the ingredients. Since it is a similar product to other products out there, you can evaluate it without having to try it. I don't think it really has good quality ingredients and if you did want a meal replacement, there are other, better options.

I don't think there's anything inherently dangerous about using a meal replacement product. But the question is, do you understand why they work and what the pros and cons might be of using this as an option?

Anything that causes you to create an energy deficit will work in the short term. If the shakes you drink are much lower in calories than the food you would have consumed, you're essentially creating an energy deficit in most cases. The shakes themselves are not weight-loss inducing. They are a low calorie substitution for whatever it was you were eating.

You can do this without Visalus, using whole foods or a protein supplement, without skipping meals, and have the same progress at a much lower cost, all the while you'll probably gain some valuable information along the way.

Lol. Yeah... Good luck with that.

I personally am not a fan of meal replacement. I found that shakes just leave me hungry and sluggish from all the sugar.

You are here due to the fact like the rest of us that you couldnt eat right. I tried Vi...and its good. But there is no way I was ready to just drink shakes during the day and then pig out at night on a meal. You will be better off baking one day a week, freezing and eating portioned meals you make yourself.
