So my boyfriend has been using this for a while now he hits the gym 3 times a week and does a lot of strength training. I have been doing Turbo fire (4-5 times a week) and today I decided to give this shake a go for breakfast. I feel really bloated, which is a good thing I guess as it means I wont want to eat for a couple of hours. Plus I am going to work out soon and it says that you can use it before you work out. I just want to know if this is a good decision that I am doing? Skipping breaki and replacing it with this protein shake?? Any one else use it???

If you can get enough protein from food then skip the shake, if you have trouble getting enough protein then go for it. I have no idea what the content of it is but I would probably go for real food pre-workout and shake after workout.

Take a look at the ingredients/nutritional info, synergy has a lot of carbs in for a protein shake and they are mostly sugar.

I'm really not a fan of PHD and their whole range of supplements is over priced.

tbh this product is more for weightlifers than your average person, but even then I don't think it's great.

If you are going to start taking this be aware this product has 5grams of creatine in it, Creatine causes water retention so you willalmost certainly see your scale weight creep up a bit if you take it regularly.

I see you are based in the UK, Personally if you want a protein shake I would just get something cheap and basic such as

    http://www.bodybuildingwarehouse.co.uk/premium-whey-protein-4kg

if you want the extra carbs the phd stuff comes with just chuck a banana in there or something.

Tell your boyfriend to buy the following 2 products instead of that phd stuff he will get exactly the same effect then he spend the money he just saving taking you for dinner!

Thank you for all that information. I think I will skip the PHD shake then! Just researched and for fat burning work outs I should have about 10g of protein before working out, so just had has 1.5 oz (42g) of tuna :).

I will pass on the link you gave me to my boyfriend though. Many thanks for your help :D
