Calculating calories burned

I have just started with this program. I am doing brisk walking on my treadmill for 30 minutes per day. I have it set starting at 2.0 mph, then progressing reaching 3.4 mph by the 10 minute mark, staying at that until 30 minutes are completed. The treadmill also changes the incline automatically. So, how do I know how many calories to say I have burned? Help!

1. You can buy a hart rate monitor, this is the most accurate way to calculate cals burned.
2. You can enter the amount shown on the treadmill.
3. You can take your average speed x total time. Look at total miles in 30 min and times it by 2 to get your miles per hour speed. You can adjust it upwards slightly to make up for the incline increase.

Like the previous poster said, an Heart Rate Monitor is your best bet to get acccuracy. I love my HRM, it actually motivates me to work out more because I know exactly what my workouts are burning. Good ones can be a bit pricey, (about $100+) but they are SO worth the money!0
