its nice to learn from the veterans here how everyone do to keep themselves full without gorging on high calories foods
For me i take a huge gulp of water, which only last 3 minutes and the hungry feeling return with a vengence. Mentally i think its adding more to my stomach acid and it made me slightly ill. I really need to reprogram my mind about this. Tried munching on apple, only last 10 minutes before i got hungry again. Now i love soup, particularly campbell mushroom soup powder packet and im even tempted to substitute dinner with it, but is it healthy to do it every night?

Hiya
Water is what I use. I NEVER eat within an hour of a meal regardless of how hungry I feel because of the lenght of time that the messages that tell me i am full or hungry take to get to my brain.
Anyway, I drink a large abount of water if I feel hungry and when i feel hungry again I drink more water. I carry around a 2 litre bottle.
Also if things get really bad, a cuppasoup they are only 50-90 calories
hope this helps
cheers

1-2 cups of cottage cheese--good protein source0

A can of Campbell's Soup is almost 200 calories, and can exceed your entire daily recommended sodium. And no, you shouldn't substitute soup for dinner.
Eat more protein and more fiber. Your body will get used to the diet, you don't need to be tricking it/you into thinking it's/you're not hungry.0 -
ground flax seed. Seriously. That's my secret. When you have some with water it expands and hangs in your stomach and you are full. It is very low in calories for what you get in return; good fiber, Omega 3's.0

If you eat a whole foods plant-based diet, you will have no problems feeling full. Check out "Eat to Live" by Dr Fuhrman.
I've been following this plan for the past 6 weeks, I'm only hungry at meal time, and I've lost 26 lbs in that time period. It's friggin amazing.0 -
I agree with flax seed! I also find protein and healthy fats are the best for feeling full. Whenever i'm hungry I'll eat things like tuna, greek yogurt, a handful of almonds, a boiled egg, avocado and a big bottle of water0

but... eating more protein doesnt result in me bulking up like she-hulk? O_O i have this fear and i build muscle easily but hard to burn fat. Are there any other ways besides more protein? thanks ya'll for that knowledge though, so if i take more protein (ie meat) what kind of exercise do i do to not bulk up?0

In short, NO!0 -
Eat more ruffage. Lots of fruits and vegetables.
I rarely feel more full than after I eat an apple with peanut butter.
Protein, healthy fat, carbs, fiber...
Fruits and veggies have fiber which is slow to digest...hence, you will feel full longer. Pair it with a protein to make it more of a meal.0 -
Reading through the posts I think a combo would be best some protein and COMPLEX carbs, I find beans and legumes to be the best cuz they supply both! Half a cup of bean salad can fill you up!
I agree, soup is very high in sodium and can result in water retention so I wouldn't that often - pure vegetable soups that are low sodium would be a better option if you love soup :-) I like the Gardennay ones in the tetrapaks - now lower in sodium.
And it's 20 minutes before your brain registered that you have eaten so always wait that long before considering eating again.
Another tip with the water: drink 2 cups or 16 oz of COLD water before you eat...it fills you up a bit, helps you get to 6 of your 8 needed glasses and your body has to heat the water before it can use it - raising your metabolism and burning calories at the same time!0 -

This! I eat it daily with fruit. I personally swear by dairy. Good protein and it keeps me going. I find I eat less in general if I include it.0 -
As mentioned, lots of protein and water. I eat 2 eggs for breakfast and that is probably the best meal I have found to really keep me full. I also eat almonds mid-afternoon with an apple. I am diligent about counting out the almonds because of the fat.0
