Interesting "Fitness Tracker" article (HRM, Fitbit, etc)

The article (unsurprisingly) concludes that although "they aren’t completely accurate when it comes to calories, fitness gadgets like these still give you a bird’s-eye view of how active you are". I found it interesting to read about how different gadgets do their calculations and to see a side-by-side comparison.

Interesting. Thing is to have lower expectations. I like the fitbit more than my pedometer because I often climb hills, and the pedometer doesn't recognize the climbing aspect. But I also don't like how fitbit adds calories burned into my daily total. I with it just gave me my activity burn.
I don't expect or need it to be 100% accurate, I just need the motivation to see a numeric result both on the fitbit and on my scale. Good artical though on understanding how these tools work.0 -

I agree completely. Also, I expect that regardless of its accuracy, each gadget is probably fairly consistent/precise. I didn't link the article to knock the devices; I love my HRM. :happy:0
