Shopping before weight loss?

I really need some new clothes. Nothing really fits me anymore, plus I just don't like the stuff in my closet. Do you think it's a bad idea to shop for new clothes when today was my first day really buckling down and starting to stick to losing weight? I have some extra money right now and want to go but I'm not sure.

Right now I stick to second hand/thift stores. I usually go to Savers and find some really awesome clothes, and much of the time they still have original tags on them! I actually find I have more fun clothes shopping at places like this because there's so many different styles in one place and I get to experiment with all the things that might look good on me. The only times I've bought clothes at a regular store since starting MFP is if I had a gift card or if I needed to get basics, like socks and underwear.
Likewise, as I get too small for my clothes, I donate them. Which is cool for Savers because they have the frequent shopper cards, where you get stamps for every $10 you spend and then get a discount when you fill the card. They stamp it for every bag of clothes you donate off too, so I save even more money!
