If you don't know the calories in something?

Do you avoid it all together?

If I forget to bring my lunch, I usually go to the store. I've had a habit of grabbing something from the deli, that's made and ready to go (usually a wrap) but this means I don't know how many calories are in it.

I suppose I could guess, but my guess could be way off.

So..my question is....do you usually avoid foods that you're unable to find out the calorie content of?

If you have a smart phone, you can scan the barcode on the wrapper and that often gives you the answer. Otherwise, just browse through the database and find something similar. It takes a while to get used to and to build up a database of your own foods. It does help to be more organised and to pack lunch and snacks the night before. It really keeps me on track. Protein bars are very handy too for those times when you will otherwise miss a meal and end up hoovering everything in sight because you are so hungry. I keep a stack in the fridge.
