polar ft7 trouble

My polar hrm has started acting up. it either reads 00 or something like 232bpm or just says "check heart rate transmitter". Im about to change the batteries, but if thst doesnt work what can i do? anyone else have this problem?

    I did. I replaced the battery.For me that didn't help. I ordered a new chest strap and the problem stopped. Hope the battery replacement (on the chest strap) works for you. The battery on the watch has an indicator that will show up when it's 20%.

    do you wash the strap?
    My HRM meter goes kaputt under high tension wires or if my iphone is too close to the transmitter.

    Or if you put your hands on the HRM on the treadmill lol.

    Good call about rinsing the strap. I do that daily.

    I wash it, and dont work out at a gym/on equipment/under higglines/and i dont have an ipod device. :) hope this battery works!

    If you still have issues send it in, polar service is pretty good.

    I had that same issue with a polar heart rate monitor, but a different model. New batteries didn't work, which is a good first step. Mine was still under warranty, so I sent it off and they ended up sending me a new chest strap because the other one had a dysfunctional transmitter...or receiver...or whatever the readers are on the strap :)
