Weird question - protein powder in hot water?

So I've been experimenting with protein powder - Pure Protein from Target. In milk it's great, tastes like rich chocolate milk - same in almond milk. In cold water is was blech! But the taste reminded me of hot chocolate that's gone cold (instant mix in water) - and it got me thinking...if I mixed it in with hot water, I have a feeling it might be a lot like hot chocolate. (It might be terrible - but I'm willing to risk it just once!) I wanted to see - has anyone else done this? Will it...I dunno - damage the protein in the powder? Or is this a bit of diabolical genius?

I use vanilla protein in my coffee or tea instead of cream and sugar. so much better than Starbucks and a lot cheaper!
I like chocolate in my coffee - yum mocha!

Yeah, I mix mine with half hot water and half milk + a bit of extra cocoa and sweetener then microwave - makes it go down a bit easier

Some brands clump horribly in hot water. Not sure exactly why they do that so you may want to experiment with a small amount first to figure out how it mixes best. I make "mochas" frequently with the chocolate muscle milk.

This. I tried to make a 'hot chocolate' using Isopure natural protein powder and I ended up with the most disgusting thing in the world as it became a huge clumpy mess.

Sadly, it seems Pure Protein is the same way :( Bummer, it sounded so good in theory! -dumps the mug of ... clumpy guck...down the toilet-
